I have never been so dissapointed. Of the past 21 cars I've owned and prolly 19 of them at least had an aftermarket exhaust, this has to be the biggest dissapointment of them all.

I got a great deal for it too.
$725 installed
part # 16642 (300c,CHARGER, MAGNUM SRT8 HEMI) MAGNAFLOW CAT BACK EXHAUST.

it sounds nice at like 2,500rpm or lower rpms then when you're nailing it.
also, why does the SRT8 cap off the reving at 4k? I was trying to rev it til the limiter came on and it just stops at 4k? wtf?

anyways, I notice def. a power change, but I noticed more hp gain from my dub cold air intake all bs aside. this is the quiestest exhaust especially for a car like this. I'm really bummed right now. my old Escalade was much louder then this. this is just pathetic.

so i'm thinking of takin out the cat, will I lose hp or any power at all?
I know with some cars, running straight pipe doesn't effect the power, just wondering if any of you guys know if I will lose any low end, etc.

oh yeh, smog is not an issue, my uncle owns a smog shop.

I heard all these good things about this exhaust and now I'm like damn, I wasted $725 on this? I know they hit for over $800 almost most places and even on ebay and the msrp is like $1,200, but I paid $640 for mine and the rest was on installation. this is bs.

I want a louder pipe. damn

have your muffler shop remove the resos on the end of the exhaust near the tips. you will have to buy new tips like me. i went with the magnaflow performance rounded lip tip. that is what i did to my magnaflow setup to increase the sound. also, you should look into high flow cats or just straight pipes in their stead.

also check out some cutouts for increased sound. they will really give you some noise if that is what youre looking for.

I went with the JBA Catback and LOVE IT!!! It Drones a little but I just turn up the Stereo and all is good. I paid $546 shipped and installation was $90 at my local Muffler shop. Sell your Mags and get the JBA.

I have the Magnaflow and I love it. People always say it sounds great. I have always had flowmasters and my buddy had dual chamber flow masters on his SRT8 magnum and you could not even talk in his car.HAHHA. I just wanted throaty but not to noicy in the cab. I am very pleased, but they did get louder as I broke them in. Each to his own. My Challenger will have 3" back with dual Flowmasters though HAHAHAH:rockon:

22" Asanti wheels
Magnaflow
Hotchkis springs and sways
Billet pistol grip shifter
and more.....

sorry to hear that bro. I can honestly say that JBA exhaust sounds just as good as a flow master on a 5.0 mustang, but even better :) because it's a hemi :nervous s I love my JBA setup. good luck

WELL, I DO NOTICE A BIG INCREASE IN HP AND IT PULLS BETTER NOW.

BUT I'M GONNA TAKE OFF THE MAGNAFLOW RESONATOR AND REPLACE IT WITH A STRAIGHT PIPE, IF I TAKE OFF THE CAT, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND I DON'T WANT DEALER DRAMA.

THE DUB AIR INTAKE DYNO'D AT THIS SHOP AT 22HP TO THE REAR WHEEL
THAT'S MORE THEN THE DAMN EXHAUST DID FOR ME.

if it gets louder then that will be cool.
I'm not gonna get rid of it, I'll lose money.
what is JBA?

what I wanted was it to be so loud that it bothered everyone on earth.
that's how my bike and other cars sound. :(

btw, I love that flomaster sound on the 5.0's.

If you wanted that loud, Magnaflow anything on these cars is not your answer. You'd have done better to read up on it first - I don't anyone ever said their Maganflow catback was LOUD.

I think maybe you just wanted to lop off your exhaust and run straight pipes, if you're after unsolicited teeth filling removal.

HEY DUDE THE REVS CUT OFF WHEN YOU USE TOO MANY CAPS IN ONE POST!!!!1onefinity!@

The revs are limited in P because it causes undue strain on an engine to rev it when there is no load on it, i.e. when it is not in gear. It's just bad for the car to rev high when not in gear, but I imagine B&G or one of the aftermarket tuner chips will let you rev as high as you want in P.

You should check out the Zoomer's exhausts, they're really loud, but don't drone at all. They're about as loud as you can get w/o droning in the cabin, and they sound good at all revs and WOT.

Resonators and mufflers are parts of exhaust.?!?

A resonator is just another type of sound deadener... Generally, mufflers have packing to reduce volume, and resonators use sound reflection to reduce the volume.

Stock LX cars (ie, Charger) has a two channel muffler "suitcase" in the center of the car, and two "can" resonators right at the exhaust tips.

The "tuna boat" mod is removing the resonators from the rear.
The "brylcreem" mod is removing the muffler from the center..
(somebody correct me if I'm wrong)

both make the car MUCH louder than stock.

I knew they were parts of exhaust :Z
Is it better to have both -to have a mean sounding exhaust on a v6 or do you have to have one or the other?

It's not necessary to have both, just how Chrylser wanted to tune it.

The V6 stock exhaust is different and I'm not familiar with it.
Ask you fellow V6 owners about the kind of exhaust you want. There are some after market "cat backs" for the V6 but I'm not sure of the sound. I think some even split into 2 pipes to the rear doesn't have a missing tip.
